Clean Up Yer Act!

This weekend ZiN writers-in-residence for May, Donna Glee Williams and Ambika Thompson, joined the hardworking villagers of Ližnjan in cleaning up the beaches where we all swim and enjoy inspiring sunrises and mesmerizing sunsets. And they say writers are only good for writing, ha!

The sunshine was playing with us; for a moment it showed its blistering face, then it shyly hid itself, making us enjoy the scale of changing blue of the water and of the sky - so much blueness, but no blues at all.

The ecological actions of cleaning up the village take place in Ližnjan a couple of times every year, especially in the Spring and Fall. Every year we discover how much plastic and other garbage people leave behind, but we also discover every year anew how together we can make our immediate and global community a better, cleaner and safer place! A place to be be enjoyed and respected by us and our children.
